HISTORY OF TROUT LAKE
Established in 1924, Trout Lake Golf Club, is the oldest 18-hole golf facility in the Northwoods. After the completion of the back nine in 1926, Trout Lake Golf Club has become a premier golfing destination in the Northwoods and has been enjoyed by the thousands. The clubhouse is the original 1880’s logging home, and was recently remodeled with extensive work on the fireplace, golf shop and the historic screened porch overlooking the 18th fairway. You must come out to relax by the fire or on the porch and enjoy some beverages.
This course is fun for everyone and a challenge for experience golfers. Cut right out of the north woods this beautiful course is picturesque and very unforgiving. (Bring lots of golf balls.) The greens are small and the fairways are narrow leaving very small room error.
Directions from the Island Bay Lodge!
The golf course is located approximately 5 miles South of the Island Bay Lodge on Hwy 51. Just travel down Island Lake Rode to Hwy 51 and take a left turn. Look for our signs on the right side of the highway. Turn into our drive and follow back 1 mile to the clubhouse.
